RUBAG becomes exclusive YANMAR dealer in Switzerland

Yanmar Compact Equipment EMEA (Yanmar) appoints RUBAG Baumaschinen (RUBAG) as its exclusive importer and sales partner for Switzerland as of June 1, 2026.

This marks the biggest milestone in a partnership that has lasted over 26 years. RUBAG has been successfully representing compact equipment on the Swiss market since 2000 - initially under the SCHAEFF / TEREX brand and since the takeover in 2018 under the YANMAR brand. For RUBAG, being awarded exclusive representation is an important confirmation of its long-standing commitment, strong market position and comprehensive service expertise.

Founded in 1904, RUBAG is now one of the longest-established construction machinery dealers in Switzerland. Headquartered in Birsfelden near Basel, the family business is now managed by the third generation and operates eight locations in Birsfelden, Grellingen, Otelfingen, Oberbüren, Konolfingen, Hellbühl, Tuggen and Chavornay. The Swiss-wide branch network is supplemented by regional service partners.

Compact machines for demanding operating conditions

In Switzerland, construction machines are often used where space is limited - for example in gardening and landscaping, on inner-city construction sites or when expanding infrastructure and fiber optic networks.

"In Switzerland, construction work is often carried out in confined spaces and under ongoing traffic," explains Nicolas Sameli. "These are challenging conditions for our customers. Accordingly, compact, high-quality and reliable machines that prove themselves in a wide range of applications are in demand. However, it is just as important to have a regionally based partner who understands the practical requirements and can provide fast and competent support at all times."

Yanmar's compact machine range is specially designed for such applications. RUBAG will continue to offer the full Yanmar range, including mini and midi excavators as well as wheel loaders and tracked dumpers.

As part of the exclusive representation, RUBAG will also strengthen Yanmar's visual brand image in Switzerland in the future and increasingly focus on its characteristic premium red brand identity. In future, all Yanmar machines at RUBAG will be offered with a red hood instead of the previous white paintwork, which should further promote the recognizability of Yanmar in the Swiss market.

Switzerland-wide service and direct customer proximity

More than 100 qualified employees at RUBAG provide comprehensive advice and reliable service. Thanks to state-of-the-art service vehicles, a central spare parts warehouse, eight company-owned locations and additional service partners throughout Switzerland, RUBAG customers benefit from fast and regional services: from maintenance and repairs to overhauls and installations. The regional teams also have in-depth market knowledge and maintain close, personal customer relationships.
